Eureka JH Tornado Basketball Fell To Caney Bullpups

The Lady Tornadoes A-Team fell behind early in the first quarter, sitting 3-11 as the moved into the second period. The Tornadoes knocked down five shots to conclude the half 13-21. Caney pulled further ahead when play resumed, tallying 13 points to the Tornadoes’ five. Eureka sat 18-34 as the final quarter began. At the buzzer, Caney claimed the win and Eureka fell, 27-48.

Scoring for the Tornadoes were: Arabella Shepherd 10, Sydney Lindamood 8, Jersey Cox 6, Anabell Bogle 2 and Karsyn Osborne 1.

B-Team girls put their first shot on the board during the second quarter, trailing Caney 5-11 at the half. Amorette Guillaume went two for two at the foul line in the fourth quarter to give the Tornadoes what would be their last points of the game and the only points of the half. Eureka fell 7-27.

Scoring for the Tornadoes were: McKenna McDonald 4, Guillaume 2 and Sofia Escareno with 1 point.

Boys

A-Team boys found themselves in a sizeable deficit early on versus Caney. Eureka trailed by 11 at the end of the first period and was only able to put two additional points on the board before halftime. Eureka sat 5-27 as they kicked off the third quarter. This would end up being the highest scoring quarter for Eureka, the Tornadoes tallying 7 to Caney’s 19 points. Both teams concluded quarter four by adding two points to their scores. Eureka fell 14 to 48 at Caney.

Scoring for the Tornadoes were: Eli Mason 4, Wacey Ross 3, Cash Escareno, Maddox Hughes and Will Morris with 2 points each and Brody Mitchell with 1.

B-Team Boys brought home a 7-47 loss to the Bullpups.

Eureka was down by 10 after the first quarter. Caney out-scored the Tornadoes before heading to the half, Eureka trailing 5-27. Two points from Ja-Kolby Robbins in the third quarter would conclude scoring for Eureka. Caney tallied 20 points in the second half to claim the win.

Scoring for the Tornadoes were: Escareno 3 and Henry Perrier and Robbins with 2 points each.
