It’s an icy Monday morning, but the temperature is not so terribly cold. It is 30° which doesn’t sound warm, but it is much warmer than last week. I hope the ice storm didn’t cause anyone any damage.
When everything has a light coat of ice it looks almost magical. But when you stand outside in the quiet and hear creaking and cracking noises, then there is too much ice.
I haven been hardly getting out in the extreme cold we’ve been having. I bundle up to take Punky out and it takes more time to bundle up than what she spends outside!

Coming up next month the Toronto Booster Club will be hosting a crockpot cook-off at the Gym. Main dishes, side dishes, soups or desserts. You have to bring a recipe card with each crockpot of goodies you bring.

This sounds like a good time for all, whether you are a cook or just like to eat. A good opportunity to get out and visit with people and try some good food.
I would like to make something to take up there, but I don’t have actual recipes. I have about 75 cookbooks, but the good old favorites are all just whatever amounts of whatever!
In my cookbook collection I am trying to get a cookbook from every state. The ones that community groups put together. They have the best recipes and I enjoy reading the personal comments that the cooks add to their recipes.

I have bad news to tell, Sassy Sister’s is closing the restaurant and gift shop. They will be having a big sell-off of their merchandise sometime soon.
