Named Businesswoman Of The Month

The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Greenwood County Hospital basement meeting room. There were nine members and two guests present. Guests were LaTisha Smalley, businesswoman of the month, guest of Diana Cole, and Chase Thornock, who provided the program for the evening. Roll call was answered by “What fun and exciting accomplishment do you want to do this year?”

The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Greenwood County Hospital basement meeting room. There were nine members and two guests present. Guests were LaTisha Smalley, businesswoman of the month, guest of Diana Cole, and Chase Thornock, who provided the program for the evening. Roll call was answered by “What fun and exciting accomplishment do you want to do this year?”

Minutes of the last meeting were given and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved as read.

Announcements were made. Kacey Countryman spoke about the 2023 Christmas Wellspring project. They were able to bless 150 families with blessing boxes this year. They also were able to give every resident at Eureka Nursing Center a stocking stuffed with goodies.

There were no correspondences to be read.

Cole introduced the businesswoman of the month, Smalley. She has five children. She is married to Mike and is currently employed as the ISS supervisor at Eureka Junior/Senior High School. Smalley is also an independent consultant for Scentsy. She spoke about the products available from Scentsy, which includes cleaning products, dish soap, pet products, laundry products and wax and car bars.

The program for the evening was presented by Thornock from The Mapleton – Eureka. Chase and his wife Carly purchased the assisted living facility building from Kevin and Lori Burk. Chase Thornock partners with his brothers in ownership of the assisted living facilities. They have another assisted living facility in Andover, which features two campuses. They are in the process of renovating the building in phases and are currently in phase one, at the Eureka location. The painting has all been completed and the flooring is in the process of being worked on. They currently have four of the nine rooms reserved. They are currently a private pay only facility.

The club sang Happy Birthday to Lois Stewart, Countryman and Vicki Lindsey who all had January birthdays.

The door prize was won by Audra Hemingway.

Hostesses for the evening were Ava Jones, Marilee McCoy, Countryman and Melissa Barkus.

The club closed with the club collect.
