Last year, well over 1,200 Kansas athletes competed in the tournament. The remainder of the funds will be used to support the Bishops special charities for those with intellectual disabilities. The Kansas State Council also provides much needed support to organizations for the intellectually disabled.

In accepting the check, both superintendents expressed appreciation to every Knight and all of the contributors who made the funds available to support Special Education and events for the mentally challenged individuals.

The funds will be used to help students learn to live independently and to buy clothes, if needed, for their work place. The money is also used for training materials for onthe- job work and to have community trips to learn social skills and add to the student’s leisure activities.
